ABOUT   HYPNOSIS

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a totally natural state of mind. When in hypnosis, you will feel very calm and relaxed. You will be completely aware of everything and your concentration will be enhanced.

This natural state of relaxation and awareness allows access to the subconscious mind, having relaxed the thought processes of the conscious mind.

Common examples of hypnosis

Many people claim that they have never been hypnotised, but they do admit to having drifted off whilst thinking about a loved one, forgetting large chunks of a car journey (commonly known as 'highway hypnosis'), or 'going somewhere else' while reading a book. These are examples of natural states of hypnosis.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the treatment of emotional and psychological conditions, unwanted habits and undesirable feelings, using hypnosis. The aim is to help people in finding meaningful alternatives to their present unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling or behaving.

During hypnosis the subconscious mind is more open to suggestion, provided the suggestion is positive and wholeheartedly desired by the Client. This enhanced suggestibility enables the Client to make beneficial changes and get rid of unwanted thought processes.

Achieving instant and lasting changes

Working directly with the subconscious mind in this way can create instant and lasting positive changes for people.

Hypnotherapy is a two-way process between the therapist and the client and, as such, it is a professional partnership.
